GP 10.0 PM - Reports after computer checks printed

RE: Purchasing > Payables Trx Entry reports

I want to change the sort on the canned reports that print after computer checks are printed. I know where to change the reports that print (Posting Setup), but I want to change the sort because of the current sort the report is useless. For example, the Check Register sorts by Vendor and I want it to sort by check number. Also the Checkbook Posting Journal sorts by Vendor ID and I want it to sort by Vendor Name.

Can anyone shed some light on if this is possible and where I can do this?

Hi - you need to edit the report in report writer. The easiest way is to print the report to screen and then click 'Modify'.

In the Report Definition - there is a sort button where you can change the sort order. However, you need to be aware of the structure of the report as the sort order you choose may not work exactly as you need.

To start, jus change the sort order and then go back to GP and print the report - see what happens.

Remember, you will need to grant access to this report through user security.

Also back up your reports dictionary before you do anything. (This report may already have been modified - so you will want a copy of the 'Good' version in case you accidentally mess it up).
