30 Day Trial - problem with users "joining" together

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Our Commercial Team is considering using the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Plan. We already have Office 365 E3. I've been trying to set up a 30 day trial for them with varying success. I have downloaded the Apps for sales (and marketing) and then sent others in the team the link to download the apps and instructions that they can "join" my trial group. One person did this successfully, but for others I get the error

"Request not Processed" --  followed Technical details saying "Tenant Administrator False".

I cannot understand why this happens in some cases and not in others???

To be clear - individuals can set up their own trials. One individual was unable to join my trial, but when he set up his own new trial I was able to join this. However other individuals have been able to join my trial. It seems pretty random.

Any help appreciated,

Bill

Attached screen shots -

Ellen set up a Dynamics 365 trial. Andrew then tried to join this trial through the dashboard you see when first set up the trial App. Below is the screen Andrew saw - He clicked on "Join".

Ellen received an email (below) notifying her that Andrew wanted to join her trial. Ellen clicked "appove".

Then Ellen received a response that this was not possible -

    Thanks Judy.

I'm no expert in Security Groups but, afaik, everyone should be in the same group.

I've attached some screen shots in the main question.

    Regards, Bill

    Hi,

Is this trial instance associated with a security group? If so, is this affected user in this security group?

As I know, when a security group is associated with an existing instance with users, all users that are not members of the group will have no access to this instance.

If my understanding is incorrect, could you provide some screenshots for us to analyze in deep?

    BR,

    Judy
