Global Address Book Customer/Vendor Security - Prevent Users from Selecting Remit-to

I have a requirement where we want to prevent any users from selecting remit-to as the Purpose when creating a new address.  The screen shot below shows the detail.

What would be the best way to prevent users from being able to select the Remit-to but still allow them to use the other options when creating a new address?

New Role, Privilege?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi ScorpioDax,

When you want to fully disable this purpose for all users, you can go to the Address and contact information purpose form. (Organization administration > Setup > Global address book. Then disable the options Postal address and Contact information.

When some users are not allowed to select certain purposes, you can implement a new eXtensible Data Security policy to restrict viewing and using the not allowed purposes.

    Hi Andre,

Thanks for the help, that worked like a charm.  I will look int the eXtensible Data Security.  Ideally we want to have only our account dept be able to modify or update the remit-to and all others do not need to see that.  Will the data security help with that?

    Hi Scorpio,

eXtensible data security (XDS) can help in that scenario. You then have to re-enable the postal address option and ensure that the remit to record is not visible for the users except the accounting department users. I have written some blogs and provided examples on XDS: kaya-consulting.com/extensible-data-security-examples
