You forgot to say what you mean by CDC; fortunately I found the question that you asked two days ago in StackOverflow, where you mentioned that you're interested in Change Data Capture. Have you already looked at the replies you've got there?

I still haven't got an answer. I plan to enable CDC on AX for retrieving the changed data to the destination.
but I'm not sure are there any limitations that I don't know such as when using batch jobs the table will lock or when should I use change tracking instead of CDC.
Could you please forget implementation details for a moment and rather tell us what you want to achieve in Dynamics AX from users' point of view?
If you've never used Dynamics AX before, as you said, it's likely you're unaware of some of its features. Maybe you're focusing on a technical solution that doesn't make a good sense in AX.
I've been assigned to help another team in that using AX and they want to use a CDC for getting the changed data to the destination by SSIS. I've only used CDC on SQL servers and SSIS, never used AX before.
so I'm curious if there's anything to worry about and I would like to find another solution to support if that is not work in some way.
Do they intend to use AX features for this purpose, or is their intention to extract data from the production database directly? If it's the latter, are they familiar with AX and all the implications? For example, they would bypass all AX security, they would have to reimplement many AX concepts (such as partitions and data areas, possibly also things like virtual entities, table inheritance etc.) and they couldn't use anything define purely in the application (such as table relations, methods with business logic, labels and so on). There should be an AX architect to approve (or, more likely, disapprove) such a solution.
