Migrating to BC SaaS

Hi all,

A client is moving to BC SaaS with completely blank company, meaning we imported master data, and will bring in opening/starting balances.

The client wants their old company, where they have about 5-6 years of transactions to be moved to BC SaaS as well, but into a separate company. This means we will have new production company with transactions starting January 2023 and second company that will have their  transaction history for the past 6 years.

We are planning to do this with Cloud Migration Tool, to migrate old company from BC17 into BC SaaS. One of the steps with this tool is to do the data upgrade after migration.

My question is, is it smart to do this with active production company already running, and will this upgrade affect the existing company in any way?

Thanks for the replies.

Thank you for your answer, but as much as I can see in your blog, you're describing the procedure, without any mention of data upgrade after migration.

It will have some affect on the tables that have DataPerCompany=No which means data applicable for all companies.

I hope you will test this process in the Sandbox environment first with the new company in it.
