Hi All,

I have a question related to Journal Names. My client is having 49 legal entities and there requirement is to share the Journal names in all legal entity.

During configuration i can config the journal names in all legal entities but my question is :- lets say in future if they add one new journal name in one legal entity then how that new journal name will show in all other legal entities? Do they need to add that journal name to all legal entities Manually?

Thanks in Advance

    Hi Daizy,

Yes, they would have to create that journal in the other legal entities. However, if these journal names are many, they can make use of the data management workspace to export and import the Journal names setups.

    Hi Daizy,

Journal names are company specific so they have to create separately legal entity wise.

    Hi,

You may use virtual company functionality and share some tables within companies.

You can use table collections for that purpose.

    Hi Daizy,

You can make use of the cross company data sharing. Check the below link which will be helpful.

Since "LedgerJournalName" table has "Data sharing type" set to duplicate, So you can use this functionality.

    Thanks,

    Girish S.

    Hi Daizy,

Journal names (LedgerJournalName) is a company specific table. It is associated to number sequence and can be related to workflows.

If you want to copy journal names from one company (Template company) to target company, you can use data management > Copy into legal entity via Journal names entity:

Before you start this function, you need to make sure that number sequence that is used in template companies exists in target companies also. If not, you can import the number sequences via data management (Entity: Number sequence code V2)
