Released Products Unit Conversion: Factor's decimal places

Posted on by 10

Hi there,

I'm struggling with the decimal precision in reports while converting from one unit to another.

For example, there is one item that contains 3 pieces inside. So the unit conversion should be 1 PCE = 0.333333333333333 EA.

However, the "Factor" field from the "Released Products" --> "Unit Conversion - Set up product-specific conversion rules for units of measure in the same unit class" screen, allows entering 10 decimals only (1 PCE = 0.3333333333 EA).

The problem with that reduced number of decimals is that the converted quantity shows unprecise results. In the example above, the conversion result is 3.0000000003.  There are items where the result is below the expected unit or a higher difference in decimals.

Is there a way to increase the number of decimals allowed to be entered in the "Factor" field?

Please consider I'm not refering to the "Rounding" nor "Decimal precision" fields. I guess it is something related to the field's precision and scale of the floating point number.

Thank you,

Arturo
