Dynamics CRM Online Reports

Hi All,

We are planning to move an existing On-Premise CRM instance (Service Management) to Online. Today we have huge data 3 Million Cases + 13 Million Emails, mainly our SSRS reports queries these two Entities. We see that current SSRS reports can't be converted to FetchXML reports because of its own limitations. Customer wants to move the system to Online, So what are the options here? Can't we really have SSRS reports in online? If not what are the best possible options for reports?

Let me know your design inputs.

Thanks,

Shaik

You can only do Fetch XML SSRS reports with Online.

You could possibly use T-SQL from a locally replicated reporting server

If you have reporting requirements that are beyond what can be done with Fetch XML.  Given your organization is online, then you might consider writing integration packages that replicate the CRM online data needed for reporting to a local SQL server instance and you can write SSRS reports locally using SQL queries. ScribeSoft has a product called Scribe Replication Services that can accomplish this, if you ever have a need to replicate CRM online data to local SQL server. You can also use SSIS to write packages that perform the replication.

In this way the reports written locally can be accessed from CRM online reports area making it appear to the users that they are running the reports from CRM by hiding all the details behind the scene. This makes complex reporting possible even with CRM online.

Thanks Guido Preite, your suggestion was helpful.

I definitely try out what fits best for our application, but just wondering for such a huge data eventhough I convert to FetchXML will the reports withstand for tomorrows data load. Is Power BI so matured to handle such huge amount of data? Any idea will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Shaik
