Infinite capacity in Master scheduling

Dear all,

I understand that Infinite capacity allow unlimited capacity reserved. However, how it is applied in Master scheduling?

For example, I have resource A with capacity 8hours/day. This resource is assigned to route for producing product P with 1 hour processing/1 pcs. Then I have a sales order need 30 pcs of P on 12/Aug/2015. Beside that, I also have scheduled Production order (2 pcs) which reserved 2 hours capacity on 12/Aug/2015.

Then I run Master scheduling with Infinite capacity option. The capacity reservation is:

13/08/2015 8hrs

14/08/2015 8hrs

17/08/2015 8hrs

18/08/2015 4hrs

Why system do not reserved 6 hours or 28 hours on 12/08/2015 (currently only 2 hours are reserved on this day)? With Infinite option I expect system can reserved more than 8 hours on 12/08/2015.

Where exactly have you defined the infinite setting?

The 30 pcs of Product P takes 30 hours, but if it starts on the 12/Aug it should book 8 hours, then the second production for the same day should book 2 hours, so you have 10 in an 8 hour slot.

What infinite will not do is concatenate the time it takes 1 hour to make 1 means 30 hours which is 4 days. The other productions just add to the capacity in those days rather than rescheduling to the next free window (finite)
