Exiting POS

When a cashier with rights to close POS hits the esc key part-way through a transaction and confirms they want to exit POS, it will still print out on the till printer and open the cash drawer.

 

Is there a simple way of stopping anyone closing down the till when it is partway through a transaction until they have deleted all the lines from the transaction

    Go to Store Ops Manager -> Database -> Cashiers -> Properties

    In the security section, uncheck  - Allow to Exit POS

    Hi Ken

    Thanks for the prompt reply, but I've obviously not explained myself particularly well. The cashiers should have the right to be able to exit POS, but if they are part way through a transaction and they deliberately hit the ESC key, the message "Do you really want to cancel the current transaction". This is fine, but what we dont want is a receipt to print and the cashdrawer to open when you do. The only way that this occurs is if the current transaction is cleared down first, then they hit ESC and the "Do you really want to close Store Operations POS". when they hit yes POS closes without the cashdrawer/receipt issue, which is perfect.

    Hope that is clearer, and thanks once again in anticipation
