Mayra, I beg to differ with your partner. They may not be familiar with Report Manager.
I checked the price list and FRx (one user) is included with Business Essentials although FRx Report Manager is not. An alternative to using Report Manager would be to install the FRx Drill Down Viewer (DDV), which does not require licensing, on each of your management team's desktops. You point the DDV to a shared directory where the FRx reports are stored. When the accountant completes their review of the financials, they could send an email to the management team indicating the reports were ready for viewing, at which time each manager could view the reports using their local Drill Down Viewer.
The Printable user manuals for FRx are available when FRx is installed. You may also be able to download the training materials for FRx. The documentation is also available on line if you do not have it installed. There are two class - so there are two books - each includes exercises you can use to practice your skills. There is also plenty of classroom training availabe. A good training partner is IBG they are at IBGNET.com.
I'm teaching a Dexterity class in May if you would llike to know much more about what is going on behind the scenes in Dynamics.
Kind regards,
Leslie
Thanks frank, I spoke with my partners and they indicated that they are sure this can't be done.
Could you please advice if there is any documentation available I can use as reference to prove them that it exists or atleast learn how to use it.
My version is Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 Business Solution = Business Edition
Although I have learned through my several questions that Richard has responded that only Advanced Management is easier to use because it doesn't have so many limitations as the version that i currently have at the office
Mayra, I believe the video your boss saw is a presentation of FRx and the Report Manager. Frx allows you to develop financial reports with drill-down capability and email those reports or publish them via a web portal, Sharepoint, etc. You should have FRx as part of your GP installation but you may or may not have the Report Manager portion installed.
You should speak with your GP partner about this if you're not familiar with FRx.
Hello Richard,
Thanks but according to my boss he says it can be done, could you please advice if you have seen something like on the video or it's only available on AE and not BE Dynamics GP 10.0
Link for CEO reports =
http://www.microsoft.com/dynamics/en/us/products/gp-demos.aspx
Because now the accountants started complaining they have too much to do to remember sending the CEO's the reports.
( I just ignored them though)
There are a number of third party products that will easily accomplish this. One that comes to mind is Knowledge Sync from VineyardSoft.com. Rumor has it that one piece of the Business Portal might be able to accomplish this.
If you want accounting to review the documents prior to sending them to management, the best option is to set up a distribution group in your email, have accounting print to pdf and attach the final to an email and send it. Not automatic but reviewed.
