Business Central India Localization – TDS Form 140 replacing Form 26Q

Hello Team,

We are using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with the India localization.

As per the recent statutory changes in India, Form 26Q has been replaced by Form 140 from 1 April 2026 for applicable TDS reporting.

In our current Business Central environment, when we search for TDS reports, we can still see:

  • TDS 26Q Export
  • TDS 27Q Export

However, we are unable to find any option for Form 140 / TDS 140 Export.

Could you please confirm:

  1. Has Microsoft released support for Form 140 in Business Central India localization?
  2. If yes, which Business Central version or cumulative/regulatory update includes it?
  3. If it is not yet available, is there any planned release date or recommended workaround?
  4. Should customers continue using the existing TDS 26Q Export, or is a new report/export format required for transactions from 1 April 2026?

We would appreciate any Microsoft documentation or release-note reference related to this statutory change.

Thank you.

As far as I know, Microsoft hasn't released any updates for this. It might be included in the 2026 Wave 2, but since the release plan hasn't been made public yet, there's no way to know for sure.

Below is the complete release plan for 2026 Wave 1.

    Thanks

    Hello,

As of Business Central 28.3, Microsoft has not documented or released Form 140/TDS 140 Export for the India localisation, and no release date is currently published; the existing TDS 26Q Export should only be used for obligations governed by the Income-tax Act, 1961, while the Income Tax Department confirms that Form 140 replaces Form 26Q for resident non-salary TDS governed by the Income-tax Act, 2025 from 1 April 2026. Therefore, do not assume that the current 26Q file is compliant for post-1-April transactions: continue recording TDS in Business Central, but use the government portal/approved filing utility or a validated custom export until Microsoft provides the regulatory update, and raise both a Microsoft support request and a Regulatory Feature Alert for confirmation.
