Hi everyone! How are you?

I´m creating a form in Dynamics Customer Insights Journey (Marketing form) and I need to configure a required field (MULTISELECT FIELD)  in order to allow the user choice ANY option from a list without having to select the first option.

Nowadays this field is forcing the user selects the first option in order the allow he/she selects any other option.

Could someone help me?

Thanks.

How to configure a multiselect field in order that the user can selects any option.
    Hello Keislene Ferreira,

You've encountered a common frustration with multi-select fields in Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Journeys (Marketing forms), where the system sometimes forces the selection of the first option before allowing other selections. This behavior is not the intended functionality of a multi-select field, and there are ways to address it.

    Understanding the Problem:
    • Incorrect Required Field Behavior: A correctly configured required multi-select field should allow users to choose any combination of options from the list, without forcing the selection of the first one.
    • Possible Causes:
      • JavaScript issues on the form.
      • Incorrect field configuration.
      • Browser or cache issues.
      • Form rendering issues.

    Troubleshooting and Solutions:
    1. Verify Field Configuration:
      • Required Setting: Double-check that the multi-select field is indeed set as "Required" in the form editor.
      • Data Type: Ensure that the field's data type is correctly set to "MultiSelect Option Set."
      • Option Set: Check the option set itself to make sure that there are no issues with the options.
    2. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies:
      • Sometimes, cached data can interfere with form behavior.
      • Ask users to clear their browser's cache and cookies and then try accessing the form again.
    3. Try a Different Browser:
      • Test the form in different browsers (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge) to see if the issue is browser-specific.
    4. JavaScript Interference:
      • If you have any custom JavaScript code on the form, it might be causing the issue.
      • Temporarily disable any custom JavaScript to see if that resolves the problem.
      • Review any custom Javascript that interacts with the multiselect field.
    5. Form Rendering Issues:
      • Try to re-add the multiselect field to the form. Sometime form elements can be corrupted.
      • Try to create a new form with only that multiselect field, to see if the problem is with the form, or the field itself.
    6. Microsoft Support:
      • If the issue persists, contact Microsoft Support. They can investigate the problem and provide more specific guidance.
      • This problem could be a bug in the customer insights journey form.

    Key Recommendations:
    • Start by verifying the field configuration and clearing the browser cache.
    • If the issue continues, investigate any custom JavaScript or form rendering issues.
    • If all else fails, contact Microsoft Support.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with the required multi-select field on your Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Journeys form.
