Kit explosion on SO & POs

Is it possible to use the explode kits functionality on auto-generated POs without listing out the kit components on the sales order ack and shippers?  The only way the auto-generate POs seem to work from Sales Order entry is if I explode the kit on the sales order documents as well.  We don't need the customers to see the line items of the kit itself.  Thank you.

    Good morning,

I don't know of a way to explode the kit into the various components on the PO, but, not on the bound Sales Order/Shipper.  I agree - the only way I'm able to explode the components on the PO is to explode them on the Sales Order was well.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Kind Regards,

I'm confused as to how this is used by other companies.  If a company is going to sell a finished good, they wouldn't want the BOM to appear on the Shipper.  And simply putting the kit on the PO won't auto-generate the component POs.  Is there some other process that companies are purchasing BOM items in Dynamics?  Thanks for your help!
