    Hi @rp@n,

Probably you mean to mention that initially the application is not working when you download it. You can read the documentation from Microsoft which has the step-by-step instruction what to do before you can use it: Set up the downloadable VHD for first use - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn

I haven't seen these errors myself before. Have you tried downloading a new VHD and check if that solves this issue?

Those Powershell errors mean the following respectively:

    1) Cannot start the DynamicsAxBatch service. There should be information around why in the Windows Event Log. You can trigger this error again yourself by either going to Services and then starting the service from there, or from a command line, type: net start DynamicsAxBatch

    2) The script can't delete your Working directory because it can't access it (or it literally doesn't exist). This is a variable created by taking the folder that the Powershell script was run from and creating a subfolder called Working, so in this instance it would be c:\DynamicsTools\CleanVHD\Working. Check that the user account you're logged on as has permissions to create and delete that folder by doing so manually. If it does, run the PowerShell script again and watch the c:\DynamicsTools\CleanVHD folder to see if the Working subfolder gets created.

    3) As with 2, but your Retail Working folder is the issue there. It will be created at c:\DynamicsTools\CleanVHD\Retail\Working.

2 and 3 won't be a problem here unless they were unable to be created in the first place. Did you run the PS script as Administrator?

Yes Phil, I ran PS as Administrator.

Thanks a lot for your reply.  Let me try as you advised.  I will update you soon.

    Hi Phil,

Can you please elaborate me, what I need to do with point 1 and 2 ?

Plesse give me more shed on this

    Sure.

    Point 1:

If you go to the Windows menu and search for Services, it should bring up the Services Desktop app. Scroll down to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Unified Operations: Batch Management Service, right click and choose Start. It may fail to start, so if it does, go to the Windows Menu again and open Event Viewer.

In Event Viewer, click Custom Views > Administrative Events on the left. It should open up all of the events on the right. Find the one that corresponds to the Batch service not starting and it should tell you exactly why.

    Point 2:

As I said, it's unlikely that this is going to cause you a problem unless your account cannot create the folder in the first place. The error is because the Powershell script is trying to delete the "Working" folder once it has finished. Go to C:\DynamicsTools\CleanVHD and try to create a folder called Working. If it creates it without issue, then you have the correct permissions to create a folder there.

Were there definitely no other errors in the script execution?

Also, looking at your original error, is the SQL Server service definitely running?
