Hi all, I am having problems trying to use the "Tenant Manager" section of the GP Web Management Console.
Although it allows me to log in with the administrator user of the administration group of the console, when I select "Tenant Manager" it indicates "Access Denied" error.
I've never used or installed the Tenant Service for GP's web client, but I'd go down the checklist of the installation and make sure everything on the security side is covered.
docs.microsoft.com/.../tenant-services-config-admin
docs.microsoft.com/.../tenant-services-applications
Here's a community blog post from Microsoft going back a few years about the topic:
community.dynamics.com/.../multi-tenant-web-services
and this one is a bit more recent, covering the same setup:
www.azurecurve.co.uk/.../
You can check if Event Viewer - Dynamics log shows more detailed information, as you're able to get into the Console, so it appears you're a member of the specified domain security group mentioned to have access there, I'd check and make sure that the Tenant Services are all started/running as expected and that the two URLs for Tenant Services render successfully. For example:
Discovery Service: SERVER:48630/TenantDiscoveryService
Management Service: SERVER:48631/TenantManagementService
Usually, the first time you click on Tenant Manager, it'll prompt you for the Tenant Services URL, i.e. SERVER:48631/TenantManagementService, so it may be that something isn't configured correctly with your Tenant Services.
Thanks
Mr. Bucher, thank you for your cooperation.
Based on the suggested documentation, we performed the windows server 2019 restore taking care of the recommended prerequisites for the installation of Microsoft Dynamics GP Tenant Services and we assume from the contents of the manual, that the Microsoft Dynamics GP Tenant Services must be separate from the web management console server (WEB Server) and tenant manager.
More specifically, can Microsoft Dynamics GP Tenant Services be installed on the same server where Web Management Console and Tenant Manager will be installed?
We always appreciate your help.
I don't see why it would not be possible.
It probably depends on how much users you are going to send to this server, but in a single server setup, Microsoft usually recommends to not allow for more than 50 user connections.. again, this is a general rule of thumb and depends vastly on the system configuration and performance.
