Hello Experts,

I would like to know do we have any documentation that talks about the compatibility of SQL Server 2014 SP2 with the Dynamics AX 2012 R3 CU8 release? Does Microsoft have an official stand on it?

Does SQL Server 2014 SP2 Supports Dynamics AX 2012 R3 CU8 and SharePoint Server 2013 SP1 (15.0.4569.1506) officially?

    Hi Umesh,

    The supported combination of versions are listed in the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 System Requirements whitepaper. The current version was released on June 6, 2017

    Hello Andre,

    Thanks for the response, I first tried to download the pointed whitepaper but wan't able to download on any of the Browsers i.e i tried on Chrome, IE and Edge. No Success.

    That's one reason i posted this question.

    Hi Umesh,

    The problem for downloading is on your side. The link is working correctly. Have you tried downloading it from e.g. home and/or another machine? There might be a smart guy in your company who did the security very well ;).

    Here the answer from the guide:

    Service Pack 2 for Microsoft SQL Server 2014 is supported with the following updates:

    - Cumulative update 11 for AX 2012 R3

    - Cumulative update 9 for AX2012 R2

    As there is no kernel version or another hotfix mentioned, I don't think AX 2012 R3 CU8 is supported. Also not even with only the latest kernel updates.

    Hi Umesh,

    CU8 is supported with SQL server 2014 SP1, but not SP2.

    With testing it may still work with no problem, but as far as AX support goes, SP1 is all that is certified for CU8.

    Even the latest document for MS AX dynamics implementation guideline doesn’t talks about AX 2012R CU8 support with SP2.
