How do I Associate Discount Lists with Price Lists?

I want to make sure that when users type in quantities on Orders or Opportunities or Quotes, then the discount will be applied automatically. Just how do I make it happen automatically so that users do not have to manually input the Discount Amount or Discount Percentage on each record?

Hi Real Victor, thanks for reaching out.

Discounts are managed under Settings > Product Catalog > Discount Lists. You can create these discounts, and relate them to your unit structures, and also organize product bundles to enhance different discounting combinations. Price lists are also a part of it.

    www.microsoft.com/.../set-up-a-product-catalog-walkthrough.aspx

This link will walk through all the pieces of product catalog. Once all these pieces are in place the discount should apply automatically when added to an opportunity or quote. For example if adding a product to an opportunity, that has a discount at 100 units, the employee does not need to do anything. Once the quantity of the product reaches 100 units then the discount will be applied.

It takes some time configuring all the moving pieces. Let me know if this solves your issue. Have a great day!

    Hi

This post describes the basics of discount lists. The last is associated th price list items. (Rather than the price list!)

Thanks. Now, the Question is how can I mass add the Discount List to the Price List Item? Can I import Price List Items with Discount List column already so I wont have to do it manually? My aim is to import mass records with Discount lists already.

You should be able to include the lookup to the Discount List on import of Price List Items, as long as the discount lists have unique names.

    Hi!

I have a Discount List for bulk purchases. If I quote prices to a customers by offering discounts on purchases of larger quantities, how should I offer bulk discounts and how should I associate it?
