For several countries there are supported features for electronic invoicing. E.g. Denmark, Italy and Mexico. What country is involved in your requirement?

It depends what you understand under the term 'electronic invoice'.
If you need to create a XML based invoice that is in line with the regulations that we have in different EU countries then there is nothing out of the box available except for some countries that Andre already mentioned. In that case you need the help of a developer.
On the other hand, if you say that an electronic invoice is one that is created and transferred electronically as PDF then we have standard features available that can help you doing that.

For now, we need to issue electronic invoice in PDF format.
It's good to know that it is a standard functionality in AX.

Right. If you need 'more' one day and plan to upgrade to D365FO, have a look at the X-invoice formats that are available for D365FO.
