Is Microsoft CRM a relational database?

Our CRM is set up with a contact form. We then have another form that groups contacts by Household. The address at the HouseHold Level should be the address of the primary contact for that household. If I change the address for the contact,  our implmentation partner created a workflow that must be run in order to update the address at the HouseHold. Cant it just use the same field? In other words, cant it just point to the address in the contact and update automatically when the address is changed on the contact form?

    Trina,

While you can put fields from related entities into the Advanced Find Views you can not put a field form another entity into a form that is presenting information for that other entity. Your partner is correct in using workflow which should be sent to run automatically on the on change event of the address field.

CRM is built on SQL Server which is a relational database -

I think your question is really if your implementation partner could have chosen a different design for the address relationship, and with any design choice, there are multiple ways to approach the challenge.

It's possible the answer is simply to enable the workflow you're already running to run automatically whenever a change is made on a contact record to update the Household.
