Service Activities showing up in Microsoft Outlook?

I keep reading how you can have your service activities show up in Microsoft Outlook similar to how your appointments will show up in both places (CRM and outlook).

We use the CRM connector for outlook.  Our appointments we make we "track in CRM' and "set Reguarding" and they show up in both Outlook in CRM.

I can't get the service activities to show up in Outlook (like the appointments do).  What is the trick?    They only show up in the service calandar in CRM not in Outlook.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Sara

Assuming you are using CRM 4.0 you could create a workflow to create an appointmet on the back of a service activity, I've never seen the service activities directly sync with the outlook calendar but i'm happy to be proved wrong, by creating theworkflow and creating a new appointment the normal sync for appointments will pick these up and the regarding on the appointment will beset to the service activity.

I just want to say thanks for your help.  You got me started thinking on the right track!!

I wrote a workflow that says if one of our techs enters an appointment in CRM that it will make a service activity for him.  It works beautifully!

Now all our techs have to do is enter the appointment in their Outlook calandars and click "track in CRM" and "Set Reguarding" and they have the appointment in their calandar and in CRM as a service activity!

    Thanks so much!

You do not need to resort to workflows. I've just tested it in the demo vpc and service activities come down to Outlook fine. I have the sync options for the user set to sync appointments. I scheduled an activity through the service calendar for myself. I then went to Outlook, ran Sync with CRM and it appeared in my calendar without any problem. My guess is you are either not waiting long enough for it to sync / not manually running the Outlook-CRM sync or you are scheduling the service appointment for someone else. Leon Tribe

I have a client running a workflow that creates a service activity.  When the service activity is updated with the appropriate resources, only 1 of the resouces sees the service activity on their calendar.  What am I missing?
