I have a quick question in reguards to finished goods, I need to know how many of an item to produce with a scrap percentage of say 2%, this number must be variable, how would I accomplish this in AX2009.

Hi Scott, There are basically three places in AX where you can enter a scrap percentage:

1) On a BOM line - this affects only the component on the BOM line.

2) On the route operation. This affects the hours on the route operation, and all preceeding operations and the consumption of the components on the current and all previous operations.

3) On the Update > Report as finished form. This affects the consumption of all components and (I think) route operation hours which are backflush issued by the Update > RAF.
