AX2012 - Account Structure Configuration || The combination is not valid

Hi All,

Good day for you

Need help in a strange case in financial module in AX2012 . appreciated if you have any input .

I’m sure of my account structure configuration ; but for one\ two accounts when validate the General Journal lines I found the combination not valid !! while all other accounts working very well with that account structure configuration.

The combination 5020010000-4-41-1604-- is not valid for the account structure.

The combination 5020052000-2-21-2102-1000000033044- is not valid for the account structure.

Hi Bashir,

Can you check the following things.

1. Financial dimensions on the General journal lines form. Make sure all the financial dimensions are defaulted/populated which you have marked mandatory in the account structure.

2. What Main account type and Offset account types are you using in this journal. If it involves an entity record such as customer/project/vendor etc., make sure that you have all the financial dimensions populated in the entity record level.

3. Also, can you let me know the posting type for these main accounts ( Posting type like customer balance or others ?)

1st all the financial dimensions are defaulted/populated [have marked mandatory ]

2nd No Offset account used with line

3rd no posting type [Optional]

I kenw it is a strange case.

Hi, I think there can be 2 problems:

1) you didn't filled in all the required dimensions

5020010000-4-41-1604--

see the blank space between the 2 dashes after the 1604? it may be mandatory but not filled in.

And also after the second dash it seems a value is missing and probably mandatory.

5020052000-2-21-2102-1000000033044-

in this example it seems something is missing at the end, a segment not filled in.

2) it can be that one dimension value is not allowed on the account structure which includes these accounts.

Hello Ahmed,

What AX version are you running? Can you find out and check on LifeCycle Services for an hotfix? There have been a lot released in regards to this issue. Hopefully, you can find the one that fixes your problem.

Thanks for your response, i found that the master data where corrupted and should to be uploaded by DMIF not by excel add on.
