We have tried using the inbuilt email routing from within CRM but the overall admin of the site is not under our control and we're having some issues trying to get the person responsible to sort it out.
As an alternative we're wanting to use the System.Net.Mail library to send emails from within plugins but we're getting some issues. Specifically with the following error message when we send:
Request for the permission of type 'System.Net.Mail.SmtpPermission, System, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.
We've tested the code locally in a test app so we know it works. I was wondering if there is something with Dynamics CRM that prevents us from sending out emails by this means or if there is something that I would need to configure to allow it through.
We're using Dynamics CRM 2013 online.
