Dynamics GP Migration tool issue.

Hi All,

I seem to be having an issue with the migration tool in that I cannot get it to bring in anything other than my master accounts, the Creditors, Debtors and Items all fail with the following errors:

Debtors - error stating "The field in line 712 with Index 8 does not exist. The data could not be retrieved" appears. You can only select "Ok" in response to this which takes you back to the tool with nothing having been imported. If I go into the csv file and delete line 712 and try again, the tool reads the file afterwards and returns a result showing there are "0" records in the file - which is obviously rubbish as I have only removed 1 line from the 800 i was trying to bring in.

Creditors - as above, the only difference being the error references ".. line 333 with Index 7..." Otherwise identical issue to Debtors.

Items - reads the file successfully and shows there are 1800 items in the file. I then select the "Migrate" button and the process runs - however the result page shows no errors, simply "0 Records" migrated - and true enough there are no items at all that have come across.

I have checked for a walkthrough, have found nothing but old ones which describe doing exactly what I am doing. Does anyone have any ideas on this - and why when removing the lines that error from the files exported from GP the tool sees no records at all in them afterward?

    Hi Jennifer,

It makes sense that nobody has replied if you guys havent seen this error before either. I work for a partner so have raised a ticket directly with Microsoft and have a remote session scheduled for tomorrow to go through what I am trying to do and recreate the error for them. I just thought I would check here first before raising that ticket in case someone else had had this before.

To answer your questions. Yes, I am also trying to import the Chart of Accounts. Yes I am doing the UK version of GP to a UK Version of D365 Business Central. This is a trial version as I am running this as a test, not a subscription version at present.

The trial is being tried with our own GP database, and it is currently Dynamics GP 2016 - Version 16.00.0404 (RTM) that the data has been taken from. I have tried extracting the data from GP using the extraction tool as described for this process into both a single file, and separate files but the error occurs whichever way we do it.

    TPReggie,

Are you also trying to import the Chart of Accounts?  Have you had any success importing your chart of accounts?  A few other questions for you, since you are referring to debtors and creditors I am guessing you are doing the UK version of GP to a UK version of D365 for Finance and Operations -Business edition (Business Central)?  Can you also tell me what version of GP you are currently using so we can do some testing with that specific version?

I haven't seen that error before in a migration so trying to figure out exactly what is going on.

    Thank you,
