ReportReport

Hi, i just created SSRS report using visual studio 2013. This report works well in visual studio. I am able to show the report from "preview" in visual studio. After make sure everything is complete. I registered report.rdl into Dynamics CRM.

Once i have fill all the parameters, strangely the report did'nt show any data from the database just like when it's in visual studio. This never happen before.

Could you give me advice how to resolve this ? where should i look to find the root cause of this problem.

Thanks

    Hi,

What sort of report is it and how did you setup the data source?

Oh, and what sort of CRM are you using?

Its a report based sql query. I set up datasource using embedded connection with credentials.

And this is crm 2016 sp2.

A few days later, my team deleted encryption keys in reporting manager. So i just re import new report and deleted the old reports. Thats when this strange things come.

    Hi Fikri,

The problem starts after the old report deleted and the new report created in Dynamics.

I suspect the old report data source was updated directly inside SSRS after it's uploaded, and editing old report by uploading rdl file again does not overwrite data source setting.

Can you check directly in SSRS: {{reporturl}}/reports to see if there is data source with type Microsoft SQL Server and is it used?

Basically, data source with type 4857.sql.PNG should work with query with the filtered views (e.g. Filteredaccount)

Data source with type 4857.sql.PNGcan work with query with tables (account).

But, it's NOT recommended to run reports with data source type 'Microsoft SQL Server' because it's a security breach. Only filtered views can retrieve records based on user's security setting.

When you delete the encryption keys, you sort of mess up you SSRS server. Can you run any reports at all?

Have you tried republishing the reports? (community.dynamics.com/.../re-publish-crm-reports-in-srs)

    Regards
