I am WELL past the point of frustration. This used to be an easy error to fix. Now, it's not. So, please tell me how. Thanks. John“The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine” Error in importing process of xlsx to a sql server
hi John,
did you install the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable?
Yes, sir. The client is going to reboot tomorrow. I can only hope that doing so solves the problem.
That should be OK, because the ACE provider is not installed on Windows by default.
I'm afraid that the client is still getting this error, even after rebooting.
Like I said, this used to be so easy to fix. Are there any new, updated, and accurate links that I can use to download and install?
HI John,
In which context is this happening ? would you mind to explain the situation and what the client is trying to achieve ? could you expand a little bit on this ?
I'm trying to understand what's happening and if that has ever worked before.. or if there is a better way to get this working. You're probably aware that Microsoft has stopped providing upgrades to the old Access OLEDB drivers quite a while back.. I know it's still supposed to work, but that being said, your OS and platform is constantly evolving, just to think about .NET 4.7 and more..
Sure, Beat! This has to do with Integration Manager and the famous error that quite a few people have gotten over the years when trying to review the log files for an integration.
Doing so can bring up the error message mentioned and there have been numerous GP KB articles written about this.
Thanks!
John
Thank you John,
So what does this have to do with Excel ??? reviewing the log generated by IM is not a matter of OLEDB driver, but a reporting component that is missing when IM got installed, which prevents you from seeing the log content on screen (and print it eventually)..
Unless you're looking to import data with IM from Excel files, which is another story and is related to having the proper XLS driver installed for that purpose.
To view the report logs of IM, you need to install the ReportViewer.exe component from Microsoft as decribed in this old forum entry:
community.dynamics.com/.../unable-to-view-log-in-integration-manager-v2013
Okay.....I took the title from one of the many online articles that produce a similar error as that of Integration Manager.
Since the downloads in the original KB articles are nowhere to be found, I was looking everywhere - even at articles remotely related. I simply copied from one of those articles, hence, my frustration with the downloads no longer being available.
That's ufortunately not going to help..
Ask a question with the improper information, you'll get answers not related to your problem at all :-)
Be as precise as possible when posting Forum questions here.. The more accurate, the better chances you'll get an answer to the point.
The link to download the ReportViewer.exe addon is in the other forum post I provided.
I thought that I was pretty clear. Thanks, anyway.
