Auto import AAD user

Hi Friend,

 

We are looking for a way to auto import AAD user into D365 Fin & Op.

We saw there are business event (include data event) in Fin & Op, and Power Automate can pick up business event but not data event, why is it?

Also, Business event - /Worker actions hire - Approve/ sounds like a workflow event, we don't have workflow for hiring. 

There is data event - /DataEvent_HcmWorkerEntity_Create/, which is exactly what we have, question is how Automate can pick up the data event. 

 

And can Automate import AAD user into Fin & Op?

 

Any hint and suggestion are greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    FO Connectors and Microsoft Dataverse Connectors are available for working with Microsoft Business Events in Power Automate. At the same time Dataverse connectors allow you to subscribe to data events in financial and operational applications with triggers when rows are added, modified, or deleted. For a detailed explanation, you can check this link:
    For importing AAD users into FO, you can check the following document, you can choose batch import but there is no mention of automatic import.

    Hi Ganriver,
     
    Can you tell what would be the trigger to import a user from Azure AD? (Not that there was a recent name change announced. It will be called Entra ID in future.)
    Is the trigger when a user is added in Azure AD? Is it when an employee got hired? Should all users be imported or only part of a particular group?

    We have integration with WorkDay, interface will create worker/employee/position, etc.
    That's what we hope to get data event fired, it would be picked up by Power Automate or whatever.

    We looked those documents, didn't find what we are looking for. Our goal to find a process/API provided by D365 to auto-import AAD user, trigger by data event fired from D365 when worker created, BTW, we didn't find suitable business event.

    No, we end up creating our own business event, but it's still not ideal solution.
    It would be nice when AAD user is created, D365 user will be created automatically instead of going through importing process.
