Hi,

Could anyone let me know if there is any way to alter the appearance of the AX4.0 cleint. By this I mean changing the colours, font, text size, etc etc

I am wanting to both make the product look more customised for our business on the eye but also use this to easily differentiate between our live, test, training and development environments.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    You can use this customization to indicate your different environments.

    If you want to simply change the Font etc.. you can go to Tools -> Options explore several options their to change the font and size. etc.

    AX uses the standard windows UI. So if you change the windows colors and settings then AX will change as well. Not much help though if you're running these environments from the same computer.

    Another option is the user options. Tools - user options. For each user/environment you can change the font. There is a Fonts tab in the user options screen. You might want to write a script though to update everyones options rather than everyone doing it themselves.

    There are plenty of companies who change the background color of the forms and i'm sure if you search around you'll find some code with instructions on how to do that. It's quite easy.

    Or we have a couple of tools on our website which can help with this. Configuration in title bar lets you see which configuration you are running which helps to quickly see if you're in live, test or prod. We also have the company account icon which displays a picture on every form which is set per company. I use this all the time to quickly see whether im in test or live, It's saved me mistakingly entering data in the wrong environment many times.
