Hello,

I am looking for resources on integrating salesforce.com with Dynamics 365 Finance, preferably without the use of third party applications.

I would like to understand what are the possibilities and any examples of best practices etc.?

In my scenario, CRM and all sales related activites are being done in salesforce.com while the existing accounting system is very basic / manual. So, as we upgrade the accounting system to D365, we need to explore the possibilities of integration and avoiding manual data input between the 2 core business applications.

Hello DynamicsHampshire,

You can use the Common Data Service (CDS), too, that's available as a part of the PowerApps premium licensing model. You will have to synchronize the entities that exist within D365 Finance and Salesforce.com. There is a connector available for the same. Because you already get a few user licenses with D365 Finance you can use this capability that's available as a part of the PowerPlatform framework.

I have uploaded a sample in Github, but this one has been used to integrate D365 Supply Chain Management and D365 CE. This is a sample we have implemented for a customer. You can choose to adopt a similar approach with Salesforce.com. Now with Dual Write capabilities available for the CDS framework in D365 Finance you can choose to adopt CDS too to integrate Sales force.com with D365 Finance.

One possible approach is using Logic Apps, which have connectors for both D365F&O and SalesForce.
