We need to extend the 80 character per line limit on the Comment Sheet page. Using multiple line entries to record the same interaction with a customer is NOT an option.
Can this be done via extra coding or Business Central has a native way to make this change these days?

If the same comment is being added could you change the process slightly? So for example on the comment sheet page have a button added which takes a user to a list of standard text. This will be a list of typical comments already in multiple lines. User selects and the comment sheet is populated?
Increasing field lengths of existing fields is not a reasonable option as you have to alter a lot of places code wise. If you’re using the cloud version some are not possible.
