Send notification when field changes value

Hi Guys,

I need to create a workflow to send a notification email only when the field changes its value. It is a date and time field so what I need is to sent notification with the new date(amended date) but not to send any notification if the date is being set for the first time. I need to do this through standard customization. Really struggling with this one, any help will be much appreciated.

Thank you

Create another boolean field keep default value to No. Run a workflow on change of the date field. Check if the value of the boolean field is yes, if so then send email. Else, update the value of boolean to Yes. This way, when the field is entered for the first time, you will get the boolean value as no. You will not send email at this point and will set the value to Yes. Now whenever in future the user updates the date field you will be able to send the email.
