Link/Relationship from Purchase order to Sales order

Hi all,

I am using Dynamics Navision which has been modified for company I work out.

I'm not sure due to this modification if my request is possible.

We have the ability to create stand alone purchase orders, which I am/will be entering hundreds+ of line items to receive in products to then be allocated to sales orders.

My question is, am I able to from this one purchase order goto a sales order and then link it?

Normally you(we) create a sales order, select SPEC ORDER and it creates a the PO and they are then linked and you select view purchase order. I'm wanting to do it backwards as I don't have data until later date, but then still be able to select view purchase order from the link sales order and it pops up in that window.

I don't believe drop shipment is the right for what im doing as nothing is coming from a vendor/customer.

Thank you all for any help.

Damian

    Hi

Not sure if blanket purchase order useful here. It means quantities there won't be part of your available inventory but you can pull from the blanket PO to get sales order qties:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/sales-how-to-create-blanket-sales-orders

Regarding your need, did you give a try with reservation? Then purchase and sales order will be ""connected"".

    Kind regards

    Jerome
