Could not access Entity Store and DB of D365 for Operations

Hi,

We created an LCS demo D365 for Operations environments for a POC project we are working on and according to our tech lead it can only be created as a workgroup machines instead of domain connected machine. And this has been causing us a lot of issues. When I tried to access the Entity Store of the environment using OData in Excel and Power BI, I got error saying "Unauthorized". And because it's not a domain connected machine, the tech lead said he couldn't add my account to the DB as well to give me access. And it's the same result when we tried his account which had AAD admin permission.

I would like to ask if anyone here has had the same issue and what the potential solution would be. Thanks.

The OData link I used was like this: xxxx.cloudax.dynamics.com/data

    Hi Joris,

Thanks for your quick response. I followed the OData document and received the following error while loading the information into PowerQuery. Do you know what might have caused it? Thanks.

For OData, check the official help documentation: docs.microsoft.com/.../create-powerbi-report-data

With cloud, most authentication is dealt with Azure Active Directory and linking it with your on-premise Active Directory allows for single sign-on experiences.

As for SQL, you won't get access to SQL in your production cloud instance so don't build any scenarios where you depend on that!
