Connector working then suddenly getting "Processing will be aborted. Failed to logon to Microsoft Dynamics AX."

Hi there,

I'm using the Connector for Microsoft Dynamics to sync CRM 2011 to AX 2012.  It's working fine and then suddenly starts to get the following error against all the data maps...

"[Unit Schedule to Unit Group] has encountered an error. Processing will be aborted. Failed to logon to Microsoft Dynamics AX."

"[Employees Service to ERP System User] has encountered an error. Processing will be aborted. Failed to logon to Microsoft Dynamics AX."

etc

I can normally resolve it by restarting all the sevices, but not sure what's causing it?

Kind regards,

Ben

    Have the permissions for the user running the AX 2012 adapter changed within AX or on the domain?  Has the user's password been Chagned recently and not updated in the adapter settings within Connector?

    Does this happen with any sort of regluar frequency?

    It there anything logged in the AX services log?

    Hi chetzler,

    The problem happens regularly, but not in a set pattern.  It'll be working for an hour or two, but then when the integration maps run the error will start suddenly occuring.  I haven't pinpointed what fixes it, but I'll normally just restart the Connector service, and the AX services until it starts working again.

    The logon credentials haven't changed.

    The erorr in the event log on the AX machine is below:

    Object Server 01:  An error has occurred in the services framework.  Method: AifMessageInspector::AfterReceiveRequest.  Error: System.ServiceModel.FaultException: Failed to logon to Microsoft Dynamics AX.

      at Microsoft.Dynamics.Ax.Services.AxServiceOperationContext.InitializeSession()

      at Microsoft.Dynamics.Ax.Services.AxServiceOperationContext.InitializeContext()

      at Microsoft.Dynamics.Ax.Services.AxServiceOperationContext.Attach(OperationContext owner)

      at System.ServiceModel.ExtensionCollection`1.InsertItem(Int32 index, IExtension`1 item)

      at System.Collections.Generic.SynchronizedCollection`1.Add(T item)

      at Microsoft.Dynamics.Ax.Services.AifMessageInspector.AfterReceiveRequest(Message& request, IClientChannel channel, InstanceContext instanceContext)

    I'm currently re-compiling AX just to eliminate that as a problem.

    Thanks for your help,

    Ben

    Ben,

    I saw a same error but not on a Dynamics Connector environment. I solved it by removing the AX object cache and refreshing the AX WCF configuration:

    1. Close the AX client session

    2. Delete the .auc file from

    If Windows XP and Windows 2003

    C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data

    If Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 2008

    C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local

    3. Go to AX Configuration utility, Connection tab and click on Refresh

    I've tried your suggestion and unfortunately I'm still getting the issue, so I've raised a support call with Microsoft.

    I never really resolved why this was happening and it seemed to go away by itself, but I did get a new kernal build (6.0.1108.403) after raising a support case and I haven't had the issue for the last 2 weeks.
