Dynamics 365 App for Outlook can't be added

Posted on by

I'm trying to deploy the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook, but it fails.

Steps taken:

1) checked required priviliges in security roles;

2) settings -> apps for dynamics 365 ->Add Microsoft Dynamics 365 App for Outlook

Result (after 2-3 minutes of status "Pending"):

There was an issue adding the app:

ActivityId: 57579a4e-003f-4829-a899-ef2a39702daf >Error : System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The specified server version is invalid. at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall) at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.EndInvoke(IAsyncResult asyncResult) at Microsoft.Crm.Asynchronous.EmailConnector.ExchangeServiceBinding.EndInstallApp(IAsyncResult asyncResult) at Microsoft.Crm.Asynchronous.EmailConnector.OfficeAppsDeploymentStep.EndCall() at Microsoft.Crm.Asynchronous.EmailConnector.ExchangeIncomingEmailProviderStep.EndOperation()

Try again

FYI: Our Dynamics 365 Online instance is on the latest version.
My mailbox is on a on-premise Exchange 2016 server, we use Server-Side-Synchronization. All tests are successful.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

    Hello Nithya,

    thanks for your prompt reply.

But as mentioned: we're on the latest version of Exchange Server 2016, so that can't be the problem.

Unless it's returning a wrong/older version in the EWS configuration...

Is there any way to check what version our Exchange Server is returning to the SOAP request?

    Hi,

This error can occur if you are using Exchange on-premises and it is not a supported version.

See the following Microsoft support document. This gives resolution to your issue.
