Please verify if you are installing EP using installer at remote server.

In my case I am attempting to build a single computer AX installation for development. I was initially running the installation across a network and from a different domain but have now copied the install kit to the same machine. I still get the same error result.

I started out by creating the database, installing the AOS and doing the compile and CIL build. The AX client works with no problem but the EP installation continues to fail in the same way i.e. missing framework.xml.

This seems to be a common SharePoint problem but the suggested solution is copy the XML file from another server in the farm but that won't work as this is the only server.

You can uninstall AX Business connector component and EP component one by one and reinstall it to overcome this issue.

    Hi all,

    I solved the problem.

1- I used Sharepoint Server 2013 instead of Sharepoint 2010.

2- I created a domain user spAdmin for Sharepoint administration.

3- I gave local admin and remote desktop permission to spadmin user on server that installed sharepoint.

4- I installed sharepoint 2013 using instructions on this site viraldax.blogspot.com.tr/.../enterprise-portal-with-sharepoint-2013_17.html with spadmin user.

5 -I added bcproxy account  to managed accounts on sharepoint server.

6- I created a web application (named sharepoint-80) using bcproxy account as application pool account.

    7 - And I installed AX 2012 R3 EP

8- I got some errors but they were clear for me(memory and acces permission error) . I solved them and it was installed succesfully.

Thanks Osman KalenderI found the same issue. Tried to install AX 2012 R3 Enterprise Portal on SharePoint Foundation 2010 but it doesn't work. After change to SharePoint Foundation 2013. It's ok as it should be.

    Just for the info..

You browse to a SharePoint site that uses a custom feature. Functionality that depends on that feature does not work, and you find an error in the SharePoint Unified Logging Service (ULS) logs as the following:

Failed to find the XML file at location "<SharePointVersion>\Template\Features\<FeatureName>\feature.xml"

Feature definition missing for Feature "<FeatureName>"

Note: <SharePointVersion> can be 14 for Microsoft SharePoint 2010 or 15 for Microsoft SharePoint 2013

    Cause:

This issue occurs because the feature.xml file is not available for all the features in the SharePoint farm. For each detected feature, the feature files, including feature.xml, element, and manifest files must be present in the "<SharePointVersion>\Template\Features\<FeatureName>" directory, and <SharePointVersion> is the installation folder for SharePoint 2010/2013. By default, this is located at "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\<SharePointVersion>".

These files either have been deleted or were not moved to every SharePoint web front end server.

    Resolution:

To resolve this issue, place the correct feature definition files and folder in the "<SharePointVersion>\Template\Features\<FeatureName>" directory. You can either restore the feature.xml definition file from a recent backup or copy it from another web front end server in your farm.

After you replace the files, perform an Internet Information Services (IIS) Reset.

    Hope it helps :)

As posted above, please use SP 2013 instead of SP 2010 to overcome this issue
