Auto Popualte Child Fields

Posted on by 355

Hi

I have a classic 1 to M from client to account.  The client can have many accounts for different products with some repeating groups existing on each child record (the db wasn't modelled properly when established).  What I would like to do is when the field, say 'date', when it is entered or amended in any of the child records I would like this to map through to all the others.  What is the easiest code free way of achieving this please?

Many thanks Darren.

The only way to do it in your current design would be to write some code (custom workflow activity workflow/plugin) to copy field values to all those other records.

Or you can redesign the system by having those fields on the client, and, then, by displaying them on the accounts using a quick view form.
