Item Maintenance gets stuck

Hi, we've got Dynamics GP 10 SP3. when i open the item maintenance and select an item with many transactions then GP gets stuck for ever until i kill the process manually. tried waiting even for 2 days with no luck. However, it works perfectly with the items of average number of transactions. BTW, our server is one of the best in the market. we're using windows server 2003 and sql server 2005 SP3.

Any suggestions pls?

Surprisingly, it did work from another workstation for the same user regardless to selecting the item from the lookup or typing it directly !!!

So what could be the reason? for sure it is workstation related but not sure what could it be?!

If you type the ID number in and do not use the lookup window, are the results the same? Does it happen for every user on every workstation? Does it work the same if you are on the server?

If you were to go into SQL and run SELECT * FROM IV10200 how quickly does it come back for this item? I would perform a backup and then run check links on the entire inventory series.
