Can you run Business Central in the cloud using a local active directory or do you have to be on Azure AD? If yes, do you lose any functionality running from a local AD?

If you are using the On-Pre version, local AD is also supported.

Appreciate the response Yun, however I am looking at BC in the cloud. Again do we need to be on Azure AD or can they rely on a local AD.

As far as I know, the cloud version cannot do this. This is a SaaS and must be hosted on the cloud.

If you’re using Business Central SaaS (cloud) directly from Microsoft, it requires Azure AD and does not support local AD directly.
