Send Email to Custom Text/Email Field on Custom Entity

I've done some research, but I'm having trouble gleaning what is and is not possible --

I have a custom entity to which I'd like to add a new field that allows users to enter an email address, and based on some logic in a workflow, an email can go out to that email address. The trouble is that workflows are pretty restrictive with what dynamic values are offered for emailing. Is there a way to accomplish what I am after using a workflow? Thanks for any help.

    Hi,

To send email from custom entity, first you need check "Sending email (if an email field does not exists, one will be created)" option from entity customization.

and field will be created, and email will be sent to that email address when you use that entity in workflow / email to.

    please check for more details

Thanks for your reply. This is helpful. The custom entity from which I would like to send emails is already created and in a production environment. I don't think it's feasible to re-create and re-deploy it. Is there any way to retroactively mark the "sending email" checkbox on a previously created entity?

    Hi,

You can update Sending email checkbox, for existing entity.

If you are deploying your customization as managed solution to production, then you need to create another unmanned solution in production, and you can update this entity.

Otherwise update entity flag in your development and re-deploy changes to production.

    Hi..

you can check  a email option in your entity ..and then a Email field will be created ...after then if you have email ids in your custom email field transfer all the email ids to the new email field which is created...then you can use your workflow to send a email for custom entity records...

It appears that the "Sending Emails" checkbox is "greyed out" even in my unmanaged solution in development. I cannot figure out how to update this flag for a pre-existing entity. Any ideas?
