Please provide solution on below issue . I want to reopen it.

Date Locked must be equal to 'No' in Accounting Period: Starting Date=12/01/20. Current value is 'Yes'.

I have the same question (0)

    Shagufta,

Why do you need to change the Accounting Period dates/year? Are you trying to post to an older period. You can do this as long as the User has Allow Posting From and To within the Posting Date period you are transacting in. After one sets up the Accounting Period, unless you have the Dates incorrect, you would not need to reopen it.

Can you explain what you are trying to do?

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hello,

You can create a Configuration Package for table 50 - Accounting Period. Once you have created this Configuration Package, proceed to export to Excel and look for the Date Locked field. You can change the value for the period you need from true to false.

Then, you will need to import back this file and apply the data. Once it has been applied, you can navigate to the Accounting Periods and see that the Date is not locked anymore.

    Thank you.

    RE: Accounting Period date locked.

    Hello,

The Accounting Period close year process is necessary to tell BC that an Accounting Year is closed. The fiscal year is closed, and the Closed and Date Locked fields for all the periods in the year are selected. The fiscal year cannot be opened again and you cannot remove the check mark from the Closed or Date Locked fields.

Note: You cannot close a fiscal year before you create a new one. Notice that when a fiscal year has been closed, you cannot change the starting date of the following fiscal year.

Even though a fiscal year has been closed, you can still post general ledger entries to it. When you do this, the entries will be marked as posted to a closed fiscal year and the Prior-Year Entry field will be selected. After a fiscal year is closed, you must close the income statement accounts and transfer the year's results to an account in the balance sheet. You can repeat this every time that you post to the closed fiscal year.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve
