Duplicate Asset Class ID

Posted on by 5

Hello:

I am receiving an error message when trying to create a new Asset Class:

The message states: Duplicate Asset Class ID.

When I click the "More Info" button the following message is received:

Situation: another user has created an Asset Class ID with the same Asset Class ID since you started this form

Solution: Examine this Asset Class ID to ensure you have the correct Asset Class ID and re-apply any required changes.

I have confirmed there isn't a duplicate Asset Class ID in the FA40202 table. What else could cause this error?

Thank-you

    • Refresh the form and try to create the Asset Class ID again. This might clear the conflict or the mismatch if another user has changed or deleted the Asset Class ID that was causing the problem.
    • Check the other tables that store the Asset Class ID information and make sure they are consistent and accurate. You can use the SQL Query Analyzer or the Support Administrator Console to query and update the tables.
    • Rebuild the index or the constraint on the Asset Class ID field. You can use the SQL Server Management Studio or the Check Links utility to repair the index or the constraint.
