You can try out following, it might help!!!

Set item Production type = Forumla in Engineer tab on item form. Than you will have Product attributes option enabled on Manage inventoyr-> Batch attributes-->Product attributes button on item form. Here you can set X and Y attributes.

Next create a trade agreement for the item, and press Lines button. Here you will where you will find "Attribute based pricing-ID". Create sales order for the same and try it.

I have checked "Attribute based pricing-ID". Unfortunately, I couldn't find how this feature is working?

Is there any one to help me out?

    Dear Ehsan,

If you only want to set attribute based pricing for your product? Then you may create "Product A" having having a Product Dimension of Color or Size. You can have "X" and "Y" as values of  Color dimension. Next you can create a sales price trade agreement having different prices for X and Y values.

Is it what you require? otherwise you may explain your case, so that we can check it out and response.

    Dear friend,

Thanks so much for your effort and your response. In fact, I'm not using Product Dimension. I have to define and use attributes such as Thickness, Width, Roughness and so on.

Following scenario is a case that I want to implement.

    Item A with attribute's Roughness's value x has price say 10$.

    Item A with attribute's Roughness's value y has price say 15$

Item A with attribute Roughness's  value z has price say 16$

Can I achieve this by use of trade agreement or any other possible way? If yes how I can handle it?

I have tried to use Element and Equation in Attribute-Based Pricing but it seem doesn't work.

    Thanks so much

Thanks Ehsan for explaining what you require.

I think attributes have nothing to do with item pricing and these are added to enhance item profile. Please correct me if i m wrong.

Secondly I think, an attribute is defined at item level and not its particular instance level. So an item can only have a single value of an attribute at a time that means either Roughness attribute will have "X" or "Y" as its value and not both at the same time. Kindly check and correct me?

However, you can manage different value of Roughness attribute for item A when Item A has Roughness as its prod. dimension(e.g. use Color to store values of roughness). Yes there are max. four prod. dimensions available which you can use for price management. Please confirm.

Thanks in advance. Your right, an item can just be allocated one attribute value but we are using Batch Number. So an item can have infinite batch numbers and therefore, every batch number has attribute value. For example item A with Batch Number 001 has got Roughness value X and Batch Number 002 has got Roughness value Y.

Although using Prod.Dimension can be a solution that I'm thinking to use it, our business is manufacturing in which I designed to implement Batch Attribute.

Anyway, I have found just following linked related to Attribute - Based Pricing that I couldn't use to solve my problem.

    Dear Ehsan,

Also check file named TC2012: Dynamcis AX 2012 R2 industry solutions - process manufacturing.

This might help you understand usage of attribute based pricing more closely, so that you may decide if it might help.
