Microsoft Dynamics GP (Archived)

default to zeroes

Hello,

I am currently using Microsoft Dynamics GP10 at work and am wondering if there is a way to have auto-complete in the financials series?  I ask this because the account numbers we use are 10 digits long and often times, 9 of the 10 digits should be zero when I am making an entry.  Can those 9 digits auto fill so I don't have to type them in?

Thank you,

Esther

    Hi Leslie,

I emailed you yesterday and got an automatic reply regarding spam blocker.  When I tried to access the link I was unable to.  Would you be able to post additional information regarding using a nickname (alias) for the account or  writing a macro that you can execute with a hot key (like F2).

    Thank you,

    Esther

    Hi Esther,

I'll compose a post with more info tomorrow. It's 2:00 am right now and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to put it together tonight (this morning?). Please email me at leslievail@earthlink.net if I don't get anything posted tomorrow. I don't have my calendar with me and my memory is not so good if I haven't written it down :)

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Hi Leslie,

Thank you for your reply.  Can you tell a little more about using a nickname (alias) for the account and writing a macro that you can execute with a hot key (like F2).  How would that work?

    Thank you,

    Esther

    Hi Esther,

    You bet!

You could write a macro that you can execute with a hot key (like F2)

You could use VBA to programmatically change it.

You could use a nickname (alias) for the account.

    Which appeals to you more?

    Leslie
