Business Process Flow for custom Entity

Hi ,

How we Implement Business Process Flow for custom Entity. Please provide me  steps and it's purpose also. I am using CRM 2013.

    Hi Abhishek,

    To create a Business Process Flow for a custom entity navigate to:

    Microsoft Dynamics CRM -> Settings -> Processes -> New Process

    Before you lunge in, you should make sure that this type of process is what you need, not what you want.

    A business process flow ordinarily is used as a type of tracking/segregation technique, meaning that you can keep track at what stage/status a record is before qualifying this to the next stage. E.g. for this custom entity you could have a 'Verified' Step meaning that you get to this step, only once you know for certain that this record is at a state where you can move forward with it, meaning you know that all details are correct/confirmed.

    For custom entity, first of all you need to enable first the Business Process Flow, it is in the Entity property definition.

    Then, same as you create a workflow, you just go to Customization, Processes and create the Business Process Flow as one of the Process, choose your custom entity as well.

    You can also use related entity (with enabled-BPF as well of course) as the steps.

    The purpose?

    The simple purpose is basically to guide user to follow the process flow, for example from Research until Resolve, from Meet Client until Becomes customer, from Phone Call to Case, etc.
