How can we prevent developers from connecting Plugin Registration tool to Production server
Plugin registration tool requires a user account to connect to instance. Restrict dev user's access using security roles in production instance.
All the developers are System Admin by default. are there any specific role for accessing Plugin Registration tool ?
I am assuming that you will create a custom system admin role to allow all admin functions except Plugin registration (since default system admin role cannot be modified).
Look to restrict access on these entities that are used in plugin registration process:
pluginassembly;
plugintype;
sdkmessageprocessingstep;
They are in Customization tab of security role.
Edit: Default roles that are allowed to register plugins are System Admin & System Customizer only.
