Problem to create a grid to add records

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I created a Payments Plan entity but I want to add several records to each Plan of payments, it contains the fields: year, month, currency and use this information to build a dashboard.

But when I tried to add records and using the + botton, the aplication sent me to a new screen of payments.

I only need to add the year, month and currency fields only.

In that way the Payment Plan will have a list of payments, and the user will can capture o modify the fileds of this plan.

Does anybody have an idea?

Thank you.

The best option (less effort & as suggested by Aric) would be to enable  a quick create for Payment entity so that when you click '+' it will open a within the same screen and can easily create a record.

    Hope this helps

Not sure if this is an option, but use Quick Create, so that it doesn't pop a new window, but stays in the same window, and then you just add the fields that you want.

You can use an editable grid (as mentioned previously), so that you can easily make changes after the records are created.

    Hope this helps.

You can create a custom web resource that will have only one button in it and position it above your editable grid. You can initiate entity creation via Web API call that can be initiated in JavaScript and after that, you refresh subgrid.

That way you will be able to create records in grid 1 by 1 and edit them in the grid after you create them.

I might suggest you create a workflow that creates a set of payment records when a payment plan records gets created. You can then use an editable grid to let the users edit the payments records.
