Hi all, we created a new GP company and copied our live company onto it. Used Tools > Maintenance > Clear Data to clear out the table data. Used the various Utilities to remove other data. However we can still see current year summary data. Can I delete SY40100 & SY40101? to clear out this data? Do I need to do anything afterwards?

iruser2 that's a great table reference! Never saw it before. GL10110 has data for current year, I'll delete that table too. Thanks Leslie, I wish I had found that article before. Since SY40100 is a set up table it gets recreated when we setup fiscal periods so I can clear that table too?

The SY40100 is the Fiscal Period Setup table - it has the months defined. The SY40101 is the Fiscal Period Header Table - it has the years defined. That's it, there aren't any summary balances in there anywhere. My answer would be yes, you can delete it. Whenever you do any kind of clearing of data, be sure to run the check links and reconcile routines. There is a KB article out there that lists the tables you need to clear if you just want to be left with the setups. Take a look at support.microsoft.com/.../872709

MC00201 = MC_Account_Summary_MSTR
GL10110 = GL_Account_SUM_MSTR
see if those have the offending data
How committed to this process are you? Rather than guessing at what tables to run clear data on (via gp or via sql) why not give the PSTL a try? You can use company copy and choose which modules to copy and if you want to copy any data.
