Hello,
have a problem with this version Dynamics.365.BC.36481.W1
Servers are on Vlan 10 (network 10.100.10.0/26)
Clients are on Vlan 80 (network 10.100.80.0/24)
When we use export (ctrl+e) to excel addin when client is on vlan 80 the addin does not work. When the same client is on vlan 10 the export and refresh works correctly.
This was tryed with antivirus and firewalls disabled on both Windows 10 with Office 365, Windows 10 with Office 2016 (Box), and Windows Server 2019 on VMware environment.
Anyone got this problem?
Hello,
Understand what you are saying. From our side, it could be that the Excel Add-In does require a direct connection when working with Windows authentication which VLAN does not offer. The same does apply with our mobile apps suite which cannot work with Azure AD Application Proxy as it does require direct connection.
To simplify the scenario, modern authentication will bypass this issue and will work out of the box and is easier to maintain. But I will leave this open to others in this forum that may have field experience with this setup. Our product group did not test this scenario so it difficult for us at CSS to support it or at least guide you through the setup. There is not much you can do from Dynamics NAV perspective anyway. It either works or it doesn't work.
Thanks.
Hello,
this is not a WANs scenarios, or a multiple forest.
This is a network, with different Vlans, one for each type of equipment (1 for servers, 1 for PCs, 3 for Wifi, 1 for printers, 1 for management, etc..).
The network is local, and only local, so i don't understand, why do I have to resolve this issue with Azure AD, when I authentication is being done on a local AD, and NAV is installed on a local machine.
Hello,
Not sure what you do mean with not the correct way to solve this issue. It is the best way to resolve the issue as Windows authentication is troublesome when it spans multiple forest or WAN scenario's. You do not need to be in cloud to use SSO of Azure AD.
Thanks.
Thank you so much for your comments, but this is instalation is on premises, so i think this is not the correct way to solve this issue.
Seems all config its OK, but some sort of security is preventing the data to be pass from/to different vlans, and this is the only thing that its not working properly.
I thought in IIS, but i don't know if IIS has anything with this specific matter,
and the option to add networks in IIS Manager to BC230 site, isn't available, so...
Hello,
Yes, we would recommend to switch to Azure AD authentication.
Thanks.
Hi,
authentication is being made by AD.
Hello,
What authentication are you using. If clients are on a different network, maybe it is best to use modern authentication.
Thanks.
